Kevin

Kevin was born and raised in the Derbyshire mining village of Creswell. He was married young to his childhood sweetheart Mabel Stockwell from Worksop and, after a brief stint down the pit, he did a course and moved into Health and Safety where he remained until his retirement.

With a lifelong interest in trains he became a keen trainspotter and would leave his home - and Mabel - every morning equipped with his ‘data book’ and his packed cheese and chutney sandwiches. Mavis did not share his passion for rolling stock and left him for Ted who had been their milkman for 22 years. Nowadays, when he is not trainspotting, Kevin is out enjoying everything Derbyshire has to offer with his mate Eric and the wonderful June.

JUNE

June was born and brought up in Bakewell, a stone’s throw from the Pudding Shop. She married young but lost her husband Stanley more than 20 years ago.....in Carlisle.
They had been enjoying scones with jam and cream and a pot of tea for two when Stanley said he was going off to pay. He never returned. Back in Bakewell June turned her home into a successful B&B for 10 years until her retirement. Now June enjoys being out and about in her beloved home county with Eric and Kevin - although they do both irritate her when they compete for her attention. The truth is she is not really interested in either of them and just wants to have a good time. Although June is comfortable financially she likes to be thrifty and Eric and Kevin take it in turns (indeed they sometimes argue) to pay for her meals out.

eric

Eric comes from a farming background and inherited the farm and 130 acres in the parish of Ashover when his parents passed away. He is passionate about cows and has never married. This is probably because all his life Eric has arisen early to milk the cows and has been in bed by 9pm. Also, because the farm is very isolated, he has only ever socialised once a year at the Ashover Show where he has won many ‘Best in Show’ awards with his beloved cows. The right girl just never came along.....that is until June entered his life. Nowadays his two young nephews have taken over the running of the farm and Eric spends as much time as he can with the beautiful June. He wishes Kevin would buzz off sometimes!
